So now, all the tiebreakers for these two teams go out the window at season's end... there will not be any situation where either Cincinnati or Carolina will be concerned with "what if we end up tied with?..." for playoff positions, since the likelihood of another tie this year is so low. So they've got that going for them, which is good...

An NFL tie... as frequent as a blue moon...
Thanks to the new-ish NFL rule that doesn't allow OT to end on a first drive field goal, the Bengals and Panthers traded such FGs and led to Mike Nugent's goat-ish miss on the last play of the fifth quarter and the first tie of the 2014 season. The teams both had excellent games - Andy Dalton looked superb, going 33 of 43 and nailing every intentional pass on the last, should've-been-game-winning drive. Cam Newton displayed all his skills running and passing as well...it was a game worthy of neither team losing.
