All HAIL the AFL PREMIERS, the HAWTHORN HAWKS!

What an INCREDIBLE DISPLAY of footy by the new and still-reigning Australian Football League 2014 Champions, the Hawthorn Hawks, who utterly annihilated the home-and-away season ladder leading Sydney Swans by a score of 137-74 in the Grand Final on Saturday, September 27th, at the "home of footy", the Melbourne Cricket Grounds.

Tied at 14 midway through the first quarter, the Hawks just completely shut down the Bloods from that point on, led by 42 points (7 goals) at halftime, and had the entire second half to savor their impending victory. Ironically, the one player who played a top-notch game for Sydney was superstar forward Lance ("Buddy") Franklin, who had played for Hawthorn for his entire career until being scooped up as a free agent last year, a week after Hawthorn won last year's Grand Final! He scored four goals and took several spectacular marks (catches of long kicks), but it was Hawthorn's incredible midfield play by Sam Mitchell and MVP (Norm Smith medal winner) Luke Hodge that prevented Buddy from getting the ball very often in the first place!
