Poor Fresno.
Not only are we Mountain West folk out here, but one of us was a Fresno St graduate, so this piece amused us - an apology from the Hawai'i radio announcer about a comment he made when they played at FSU last Saturday...

Week 12 tiers and rankings, part 2...
TIER G: 41. Utah St (9-3). 42. Washington (7-5), and Chris Petersen is not far from where his previous team resides! 43. Cincinnati (7-3). 44. East Carolina (7-3). 45. Iowa (7-4). And yes, there are only five in this tier - we're dividing where the natural breaks are!
TIER H. 46. Memphis (8-3). 47. Tennessee (5-6). 48. Boston College (6-5), after a great game at FSU. 49. North Carolina (6-5). 50. Penn St (6-5), and promise for the future. 51. Kentucky (5-6), and what happened to a promising season.... 52. Oklahoma St (5-6), and we could say the same for the Cowboys!
TIER I: 53. BYU (7-4), after beating down a winless FCS team. 54. Air Force (8-3). 55. California (5-6). 56. North Carolina St (6-5). 57. Central Florida (7-3).
TIER J: 58. Northern Illinois (9-2), but not like they were! 59. Pitt (5-6), with a win they HAD to have. 60. Rutgers (6-5). 61. Oregon St (5-6). 62. Navy (5-5).
TIER K: 63. Virginia Tech (5-6), after a terrible loss against Wake in 2OT. 64. Western Michigan (8-3). 65. Michigan (5-6), in Hoke's last season. 66. Nevada (6-5). 67. Louisiana Tech (7-4). And so ends the mid-level teams...and so begin the mediocre ones,,,
TIER L: 68. Bowling Green (8-3). 69. Georgia Southern (8-3). 70. Northwestern (5-6). 71. Virginia (4-7). 72. UL-Lafayette (7-4). 73. Houston (6-4).

TIER N: 81. Arkansas St (6-5). 82. Central Michigan (7-5). 83. Washington St (3-8). 84. Western Kentucky (6-5) and still climbing! 85. UTEP (6-5).

We're in love with Holly Anderson...
Here's Holly's guide to the upcoming week watching college football, including the in-stadium pillow fight in South Dakota, the rivalry games on tap, and a woman riding an alligator!

Ah, it's GOOD to be the king...
As Saturday morning progresses and we get ready for the weekly onslaught of college football (glorious!), we pause to check the morning betting lines - only to find that the public sees the games the way WE do, not as Vegas does!
Seemingly EVERY point spread that's shifted has done so in the direction our Following Football tiers would dictate! Increased spreads for LaTech, Duke, Oregon St, Boise St, and UCLA, for example, match our own predictions; a reversal in the Fresno/San Jose nightcap (the Dogs are now a home favorite) and a reduction inMichigan's gap also testify to our sentiments. The glaring difference, Auburn's predicted margin over A&M, is justified by the QB issues in Aggieville.
Add to that the Memphis/Temple game last night, which we called even rather than a TD spread, hit halftime 10-10, was tied at 13 one second from the death, and was won by a FG for Memphis on the last play...and we feel pretty cocky this morning!

Tonight's American Football menu for your dining pleasure...
"Appetizer, sir or madam? Would you care to try our ACC game? It's very good - Virginia Tech at Pitt. Or perhaps you would prefer something more...westerly? We also have this delightful Pac-12 matchup, with Utah visiting Oregon State if you'd like?
"My recommendation? M'sieur, I would not be so bold as to suggest what m'sieur prefers. But if it were my place to recommend, I would like the turkey and the beaver, myself (the Hokies and the Beavers) as they are under valued, in my humble opinion...
"Very good, sir or madam; very good.
"Now, for your main course this evening? Our specialty is delightful - a steaming hot plate of Rex Ryan, boiling in New York Jets green sauce, heaped onto a delicious pile of New England Patriots, with a side of Belichick and Brady to agitate it, give it some spice! Yes? No?
"Ah! Just like me! You'd prefer it with more Patriot and less Jet? Don't worry - that's what you'll get tonight: lots of New England with just a very tiny amount of NYJ,
"Magnificent! And for dessert? Can we bring you something on the blue? Perhaps some Fresno Bulldog? With a side of Boise State? No? Hold the Boise? Well, that would be a ten-yard penalty, but we expect much more Fresno than Bronco in this dish tomorrow night.
"Ah, very good, sir or madam. It is a pleasure to serve you!"
