I am DONE not believing in the Western Bulldogs!!!

Over the first five weeks of the AFL season, the Western Bulldogs have been expected to LOSE all five games. By our rating system, by the AFL.com bettors, by the official Australian betting lines, and by my own tipster predictions, the Bulldogs "should" be 0-5.

They defeated the reigning minor premier Sydney Swans "today" (Saturday afternoon, Australian time) 77-73, to move to 4-1, losing only to defending champ Hawthorn in Tasmania. They defeated 3-0 Adelaide, West Coast,Richmond and now Sydney, all as underdogs.

With budding superstar Marcus Bontempelli leading the publicity, Stewart Crameri, the revived Tom Boyd, Luke Dalhaus and super-goal-scorer Jake Stringer, the Bulldogs are looking more and more like a legitimate finalist (unlike, perhaps, our previous darling GWS Giants, who got demolished by West Coast "last" night 120-33.

Full report tomorrow after the end of the round...
