Good. Mike Pettine is still playing to win with the Browns!

Thank you, coach! Mike Pettine announced today that he will stick with starting QB Brian Hoyer over Johnny "Football" Manziel as the Cleveland Browns continue to fight for a playoff spot in the crowded AFC North.

With a 7-5 record, the Browns are tied for the second wild card spot with 3/4 of their own division, plus three other teams, and are right there in the chase for the playoffs in this unexpectedly successful season. Sure, Hoyer's played poorly the last couple of weeks...sure, Manziel looked good in slightly more than garbage time last Sunday...but at 7-5, you stick with the guy who's most likely to help you win. Right now, that's still the veteran. Hoyer's not only earned the right to start, there's nothing yet in his back-up's body of NFL work to suggest that he's ready to out perform him at this stage of their careers. If they were their usual 3-9 right now, sure! Bring Johnny Football in! Let's see what he can do! Let's put some butts back in the seats! But now? No. Great decision, coach!
